Pushpanjali is an offering of flowers and prayers to the deities. Refer to the schedule to offer Pushpanjali each day of the Pujo. We provide the flowers, so you do not need to carry any. We’ve also curated a special Dala, which includes a Saree, Shakhan, Pola, Sindur, Pan Pata, fruits, sweets, and a coconut, for offering to Ma Durga on your behalf. If you’d like to place an order, please contact us at the provided number for more details. You may also book the Dala on spot, subject to availability.
Traditionally, Sindoor Khela is celebrated by married women, but at Bombay Durga Bari Samiti, all are invited to be a part of the Sindoor Khela celebrations. However, the ‘boron’ is done solely by married women.
Married women greet Ma Durga with sindoor, 7 folded paans (with a supari), sweets, some coins and some durba.
While there is no dresscode formally enforced during the Pujo, you will find us decked out in our best Indianwear during the days of the Pujo.
The pujo is organised solely by the members of Bombay Durga Bari Samiti, who come together and volunteer their time and talent to make Mumbai’s oldest Durga Pujo, a memorable one each year. We also organise Kali Pujo, Lokhi Pujo and Saraswati Pujo. And while Ma Durga visits us only for a quick 5 days, our preparations to welcome her begin months in advance.
